So how did this all come about?

Arrowplay Game Design all began with a dream.  No, not the kind of dream where I always wanted this to happen.  It actually started when I was asleep.  In December of 2022, I woke up having just watched several people playing a game I had never seen.  They were rolling White and Green dice trying to roll sixes.  I spent that day toying with what that game could be.   By the end of the day, I had a basic outline designed.  A few days later, I had rules written up and had played it with family.

That game is now known as MAKE IT SIX.

I am not sure who suggested it first, but we talked about actually publishing the game.  The more I looked into what that would entail, the more I realized it could actually happen.

So a little about me…

My name is Stephen Wilcox.  I have been an avid game player for well over 50 years.  I spent most of my work life in retail.  I often kept my eyes open for a business that would suit me.  I jumped into several off and on to varying degrees of success.

In October of 2013, I had an opportunity to open a business that was a perfect match for me.  I opened Arrowstar Games - a local game store here in Stephenville, TX.  It grew mainly by word of mouth having a large base of regular customers.  I ran the shop for 4 years and when I was ready to step aside, I sold it to the family of one of my employees.

So, when it came to starting a company with the purpose of publishing games that I (and eventually other people) designed, I knew some of what I needed to know.  Lucky for me, what I didn’t know how to do, my daughter would be willing and able to help me.  My son has also been instrumental in improving  the design of the base game and expansions

Now a little about my daughter…

I am certainly not the expert on what she has done and what she can do, so I will let her tell you in her own words.

My name is Jamie Lang. I’m the artistic and internet savvy side of Arrowplay Game Design. I pretty much grew up with a crayon in one hand and a deck of cards in the other. Family time was nearly always spent playing games I wasn’t quite old enough for and personal time was spent making the pictures in my head into reality.

Over the years my game collection has grown to rival my Dad’s and I think its safe to say my creative skills grew beyond what anyone really expected. I majored in fashion design, I cosplay, and I’ve been selling my creations in one form or fashion most of my adult life.

So when it came to making Dad’s literal dream into something real and building an internet presence, it was a no brainer. Of course I was going to jump right in and help!

Now a little about my son…

I will let him tell you about himself as well, but first I want to make sure everyone knows how much of an asset he has been.  The final version of the game is significantly better than anything I could have designed on my own.

As soon as I can corner him, I’ll get him to put something here.

Together we are working to get MAKE IT SIX published and available through this website.

We have several MAKE IT SIX expansions in the works as well as another game.

We plan to continue designing games to add to the Arrowplay Game Design family of games.

We also hope to expand this business to assist other game designers that have a dream (of either kind) to get published.
